I'm going to confess to something, as is my usual nature. I have only recently read the first book in the Twilight series. It took me a while I admit, until I got the audio book to enjoy at work as well. After that it was only a matter of a day before it was finished. Like I said the movie I saw first, and it was only out of a strange curiosity I decided to read the book. I admit that I felt guilty when I did that as my opinion of the movie was, well, harsh.
At first glance the movie follows the book quite well, in fact almost word for word. So you can guess my shock when I thought that the book would be as horrible as the movie itself. It was going really slow and the fact that it was not Stephenie Meyer's first book was kind of surprising. The look and feel of the book had a junior novelist feel about it, much like the first book in the Harry Potter series. And she had planned out the fact that it was going to be a series, I could pick that up almost instantly. Even though I already knew that it was. The book was much like most romance novels. Fast paced lovers doomed from the start. I almost had lost faith in books seeing as how I knew that most books all had the same layout anymore. It's beginning to get monotonous.
I had told a friend that I had seen better romance in a smut novel. Citing that it was too fast paced to be a true love story, that you could tell the fate of the lovers from the beginning. This book was as horrible as a Romeo and Juliet mock up. Worse than any others I've seen yet.
The ending of the book took a surprising twist and I loved the little details about the Cullen family and how they had come to be that the movie would, in no doubt, dubiously leave out considering time.
However, I found myself in a sudden shock. I didn't really know what to do or say when the book was over except the fact that I couldn't wait to get home and start on the second book. I had no idea that this sort of hysteria would start in me that would make me go ape shat over this series. Now I will admit that the books are always better than the movie, but honestly I still get shocked when I hear that Twilight gets heavily recommendation over Harry Potter. How can you honestly put a comparison on two totally different subjects. If Harry Potter had been a vampire then there would be a way to compare the two. As it stands Anne Rice novels still captivate my attention when it comes to vampires and things of a fantasy nature. Although the thought of it is very disconcerting, I can't stop people from making the assumptions. I can only leave you with this thought.
The book, 10 times better than the movie. Which might not say much.
Assuming. It only makes an ass out of you not me.

Brand new.
Ok so it's kinda obvious that I've never done this before. I try to not make it obvious but i feel that it will. So I might as well state my intent here and now, since I'm a horrible liar.
I was looking forward to writing a book this year. I have the whole thing mapped out in my mind. Sort of. So I came on a blogging site to see what I could come up with in my mind. To tell you the truth I'm sure that it won't be much. But I guess we'll just have to wait and see.
I'm a huge fan of wasting money. And I've noticed that it's usually to try something out. Or do something that I've never done before. So I figured that my opinion is usually worth a lot (you can ask the people I work with) so I might as well share it with somebody. Anyone.
I'm the ranting kind of person. It's just in my nature, but I also will post about what I loved and hated in a very unbiased form. I will look at it from someone elses point of view. I've been told that I'm rather good at it. I don't plan on writing about something being good or bad. Just what I've found... I'm sure somethings will be like that. But I will try to make it worth something in the end.
I think that I've made enough of an ass of myself in this one. So I think that I will be back tomorrow and post about a book I've read.
I'm sure that most have read it and even seen the movie. But for those few out there determined not to read it, I'm hoping to dissuade into having a second chance for it. The book is called Twilight. And yes to answer speculation I will also post about the movie as well.. I surely have a lot to say about it that's for sure.
So it is with a heavy heart that I leave for now. With hopes of returning tomorrow.
